The very first patati patata
If you don’t know what patati patata means — go search for it. Too lazy? It’s basically the French way of saying “blah blah blah.”
And if you’re wondering about patatian — go search for that too. You won’t find anything (maybe there is, but just random unrelated stuff). It’s just my nickname: Phan Tran Thien An, with a few letters dropped.
A little background if you’re too lazy to check the about page — I’m a Vietnamese guy who’s been living and studying IT in France for 3 years, just started working as a frontend dev at a startup (my first internship). I don’t expose too much info here, but my name’s pretty unique so you can probably find me if you look hard enough.
I’ve been in France for 3 years now. Came here to study at an engineering school — not because I had a plan, but because someone gave me a chance and I took it. That’s pretty much how most things in my life work. I don’t really plan ahead, I just… go with it.
Honestly, I was more lost than excited when I first arrived. I’d always pictured myself living a peaceful life back in Vietnam, hanging out with my friends, nothing too dramatic. But I figured this might be the only window I’d get to actually go explore, so I picked it up. No big vision, no five-year plan. Just — okay, let’s see where this goes.
Three years later, here we are. Still figuring things out, but that’s fine.
As for the blog — I’ve always wanted to write one. Always. But, well, procrastination is a lifestyle.
The real reason is simple: I like talking about my life, sharing what I know, and hearing what other people think. I genuinely enjoy other perspectives — even when (especially when) they disagree with mine. Personal brand is part of it too, not gonna lie. But mostly I just want a place that’s mine, where I can write about code one day and something completely unrelated the next.
So that’s what this is. No promises on consistency, no strict topic list. Just me, writing things down.
Anyway — welcome to patatian.dev. Hope you find something worth reading. And if not, well… patati patata.
